EnvRisk is a free, informational web tool that aggregates publicly available environmental data from US government sources — including FEMA, USGS, EPA, NWS, and AirNow — to generate an overall environmental risk score for a given US address or location. The Service is provided at no cost and does not require user registration.

You may use the Service for personal, educational, or research purposes. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to disrupt or overload our infrastructure
  • Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service at scale without permission

The information provided by EnvRisk is for general informational purposes only.

  • Our risk scores are not a substitute for a professional environmental assessment, engineering study, or insurance evaluation.
  • We make no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data. Environmental conditions change and data sources may have gaps or errors.
  • The Service should not be used as the sole basis for real estate, insurance, or investment decisions.
  • Risk scores are derived from publicly available datasets and may not reflect site-specific conditions, recent changes, or hyper-local factors.
  • We are not a licensed environmental consultant, insurance provider, or government agency.

5. Data Accuracy and Sources

Our environmental risk scores are generated from the following public data sources:

  • FEMA — Flood zones, disaster declarations
  • USGS — Seismic hazard data
  • EPA — Hazardous waste sites, Superfund, toxic releases
  • NWS — Active weather alerts
  • AirNow — Air Quality Index measurements

While we strive to present accurate and up-to-date information, we cannot guarantee that data from these sources is complete, current, or error-free. Government data may be updated on varying schedules and may not reflect real-time conditions.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • EnvRisk and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
  • This includes, but is not limited to, damages for decisions made based on risk scores, financial losses, property damage, or personal injury.
  • We are not responsible for the actions or policies of third-party services linked from our site.
  • Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed $0.00 (the Service is free).

The EnvRisk website, including its design, code, and original content, is our property. Environmental data displayed on the site is sourced from public government databases and is not our proprietary information. You may share or reference the risk scores and data with proper attribution to EnvRisk and the underlying data sources.
